Voices of Today’s Cuba
An exhibition and a concert of contemporary artists from Cuba in the presence of prominent international guests in the premises of the Embassy of the Czech Republic. An event organised by the Global Panel Foundation, Prague Society for International Cooperation and People in Need with support of the Czech Centre Berlin.
Voices of Today’s Cuba will be launched with contribution of four public figures - Marc S. Ellenbogen (Global Panel Foundation & Prague Society for International Cooperation), Martin Palouš (International Platform for Human Rights in Cuba), Markus Meckel (Former Minister of Foreign Affairs GDR) and Michael Žantovský (Director of the Václav Havel Library). The next part of the program will be an exhibition about the work of the organization People in Need in Cuba and a reception in the presence of Cuban guests. The visitors can enjoy a musical performance of contemporary Cuban artists at the end of the evening. Raudel Collazo Pedroso will contribute his politically oriented rap supporting the democracy in Cuba with his lyrics. Cuban tones will be played by poet and musician David Escalona Carrillo, a member of the band OmniZona Franca, which combines music, poetry, spoken word, rap, dance and visual arts. The punk rock band Porno Para Ricardo, famous for its anti-communism and anti-regime lyrics, will perform at the very end.
