Ventolin - wilhelmstr./electronic

Ventolin is not only a medication for asthmatics, but also the name of David Doubek’s electronic project. His “live personal appearances” are more performance and experience, attacking all our senses, than only a concert. For his live gigs he uses old samplers, analogue synthesizers and archaic drum machines, his crazy dance moves won’t let us slip away quietly in the rhythm.

David Doubek, who is also a cultural anthropologist, published his second album last year, titled Vitajte (Ventolin & Bumbum Satori, 2017). It has electronical sounding songs, beat automats and acid lines, but surprises also with guitars and live drums. He takes up his electronic basics but moves on to a more anarchic, live sound, when classic drums and guitars are supported by digitals effects and analogue machines.

With the album Vitajte Ventolin protests against the wave of negativism, which overwhelms our society and divides our personalities. He protests against the sadness rising from it all. What better protest to choose than an explosion of energy and a flood of positive mood?
