Hello Berlin!

It´s summer and the time of holiday. This is why I would like to give you a suggestion where to travel. Prague is just "behind the corner" and it changed a lot in the last 2 years. Unusual projects and unique places are opening up to enrich the city. Cosy cafés, homely bistros and lively bars, new galleries, local specialty shops, farmers’ markets, street parties or unique music performances. You can feel a sense of something new and exciting in the air. Interest in public space, one’s neighbourhood, crafts, nature and traditional values is increasing. Quality once again becomes more important than quantity.

That is what Prague-Up & Coming is about. This guide in pictures helps you navigate between the most interesting places and events that always guarantee a unique experience. Photographs give you the right feeling and of course you can switch to the English version. The website www.prague-up.com is ideal for those who don’t want to miss the real atmosphere of the city and like to discover it on their own.

My name is Eva. I´m a freelance photographer and also an author of this project. I love Prague and I love Berlin too. I come very often here to look for inspiration. During my last visit I had the opportunity to attend the exposition of young Czech fashion designers within Berlin fashion Week in the Czech Centre. This is why I would like to present you some more in my first article.

ANTIPEARLE
Jewel on the edge of punk and luxury fashion. Author, designer and photographer Markéta Dlouhá Márová looks for inspiration in the underwater world and she combines carefully selected precious metals and quality genuine pearls in her work. Maybe this was the reason why to settle their showroom near to water, on the Vltava river bank. The interior was designed by the famous Czech artist Michal Cimala and it reminds again of the sea. It´s definitely worth visiting and I can guarantee you surely buy something. I left with beautiful ear-rings :)

CHATTY
There are 2 women behind this brand. Anna Tušková and Radka Sirková. Two people of different characters but still they manage to create the common vision and brand over 10 years. It actually started as a school experiment and today they design fashion pieces for celebrities. Their passion for quality and quick and helpful approach to the customer payed off. You can meet them in a modern minimalistic showroom in the centre of Prague where you can ask for tailor made jeans, original evening dress or you can choose from their limited collections based on first class quality.

PLAYBAG
Playbag is a brand for urban and traditional bags. Originally this brand was born in Zlín, the town of Bata tradition. Thanks to their attendance on many Prague markets they became popular also here very soon and that´s why the decided to open another shop also in Žižkov. The shop guarantees also small repairs. Aleš Loch, the owner, prefers simplicity, functionality, quality materials and so he revives the Czech craft tradition. Once you try you won´t wish to have another bag :)

LEEDA
You can find showroom Leeda on the border of New and Old Town. The large window attracts magically especially in the evening. You can meet the owner Lucie Kutálkova quite often here while she is tailoring her models or just selling. She loves the personal contact with her clients. She also offers the space to many beginning and established designers and prepares various pop-ups together with them. Personally I met her over there every time I came. And very often also some famous Prague personality. They really like Lucia´s limited editions with unique style and high-quality materials.
